The International Police K9 Conference programs are renowned worldwide for the quality of instructors and programs alike. In evaluating our programs we continue to develop more advanced programs in direct response to requests from officers who have previously attended.
We challenge experienced officers while continuing to provide basic training techniques to new K9 teams. The entire patrol program emphasis is on tactical deployments with practicals involving high risk deployments, entry work and advanced live fire training. The Patrol Dog program will include day and night tactical problems, tactical building entries, K9 deployment for felony car stops, live fire training, deployment in chemical munitions, German muzzle philosophies and techniques, legal updates, criminal psychological profiles and much more. Classroom events include lectures on liability concerns, K9 Officer Safety, Training Techniques and problem solving ideas. These programs are instructed by leading police K9 instructors from throughout the United States and Canada. Our new narcotics dog program is an exciting addition to the conference and include updated training with the latest in packaging, handling and search techniques.
The Administrators Program provides more information on civil liabilities as it pertains to the administration and operation of a K9 unit. If you are an administrator for a K9 Unit, we strongly recommend this program. We have added more detail to this portion of the program due to specific requests by administrators from previous conferences. Use of force, administration of a K9 Unit, record keeping, choosing training schools, K9 procurement and the latest in liability updates are only a few of the numerous classes provided in this program.
All programs are limited in the number of applicants accepted, in order to maintain a high training ethic. Registrations will be based on a first come, first served basis and must be prepaid in advance in order to secure a position. If your registration is not prepaid, you will be placed on a secondary list of applicants who will be contacted if positions are still open after the closing registration date. NOTE: Programs for officers bringing their dogs fill very rapidly. Once the slots are confirmed for each program, no further registrations will be accepted.
Our reputation was built on the tactical training approach in our patrol dog programs. This program includes day and night tactical problems, tactical building entries, K9 deployment for felony car stops, live fire training, deployment in chemical munitions, German muzzle philosophies and techniques, legal updates, criminal psychological profiles and much more. Classroom events include lectures on liability concerns, K9 Officer Safety, Training Techniques and problem solving ideas. In many locations, depending on the host agency availability, helicopter deployments are also included in the training regimen. Some programs will also include our K9 trauma care program.
The Tactical Patrol Dog Program is the foundation of the conference. Over the years we have put thousands of dogs and handlers through our school. We believe these programs have significantly enhanced the capabilities and tactics of K9 officers and their partners. The patrol dog program provides a unique combination of hands on foundation training, lecture material on current trends in training and deployment, as well as realistic scenario based training where the teams are put through challenging scenario based incidents and critiqued to help them better their skills for real world deployment. Each program includes, but is not limited to the following training:
